Jelly Roll Rug

From one Jelly Roll (or any forty-two 2-1/2 inch fabric strips, and 100 percent cotton batting, you can make an awesome rug, approximately 30" x 44" for your home or office!   Class meets twice. There are a few sessions to choose from.  In the first class, you will learn how to prepare the fabric and batting and begin stitching the tube.  In the second class, you will begin stitching the rows together and learn how to end your rug.  If you prefer to use your own scraps for the rug - you can schedule a pre-class time to use our Grizzly Die for 2.5" strips on our Accuquilt to help make the process fast in preparing the fabric. Otherwise just bring a jelly roll of fabric (15% if purchased in the store for the class).  

Here are supplies and equipment you will need for the class (all supplies with the exception of the table and walking foot are available at The Quilted Otter):  

1.  One Jelly Roll of Fabric or about 40 strips of 2.5" x WOF (width of fabric). Colors of your choice for the rug.  
2.  50 yards of 2.25" Cotton batting (available for purchase in the store at a discount for the class.)
3.  Thread - (might consider variegated for a bit of sparkle!)
4.  Fabric Clips
5.  16/100 Denim Needles
6.  Best Press 
7.  Optional: Thread Cutter
8.  Scissors
9.  Rotary Cutter
10.  Extension table for your sewing machine if you have one.
11. Sewing Machine with a zig zag stitch and basic sewing supplies to use the machine in class.  
12.  Optional:  Walking foot for your sewing machine.
